Non-Surgical Interventions
Consultations
The starting point for both non-surgical and surgical interventions is the consultation. During the consultation, you can expect a comprehensive medical review of your symptoms and medical conditions that contribute to your pain and limitations related to your cervical spine problems. Based upon the finding of the medical review and assessments, Dr. Siddiqui or one of his staff will review a plan of care developed especially for you to address the cervical spine issues you have so you can get back to enjoying life.
Epidural Steroid Injections
This procedure involves injections of corticosteroids into specific areas just outside of the spinal cord are used to treat pain that is related to inflammation of the spinal nerves in the cervical spine area.
Paraspinal Injections
Paraspinal injections include both facet joint blocks and selective nerve roots blocks. These injections of pain-killing medications in the cervical spine can provide relief from discomfort.
Lumbar Stabilization and Physical Therapy
The exercises used in lumbar stabilization and other interventions involving physical therapy strengthens the muscles surrounding the spine to relieve the pressure on the spinal cord, thus relieving pain and increasing range of motion.
Surgical Interventions
Minimally Invasive Surgeries
These surgical interventions, such as certain types of fusion surgeries, effectively correct damage or deformities in the spinal column while affording the patient significantly less recovery time and a reduced need for pain medication. Dr. Siddiqui has won many awards for his innovation and expertise in performing minimally invasive spinal surgeries.
Surgery
Sometimes a spinal injury or deformity does not respond to non-invasive procedures and require invasive surgical intervention, such as disc replacement, discectomy, lumbar decompression, and the placement of pain pumps and nerve stimulation devices.
